August 2002: Quiberon
Our 2002 holiday was to Quiberon, kindly arranged by Mfd+J. I should say that the pics here are supposed to have some artistic merit rather than just being holiday snaps, so don't give a very good idea of what we actually did. And Mfd doesn't feature at all, by chance.
Sunset on the wall with shadows of the pilings; St Malo.
St Barbe; church door.
St Barbe. Blue window.
Like an abandoned alien spaceship, the blockhouse lies broken on the beach. I found it fascinating, in its huge brokeness, its incongruity, its combination of hard solidity and massive damage.
We were young then... or at least DE were. E definitely was, and looks nothing like that now. But there remain traces of the young D.
