This one is just for putting up pictures. Its an experiment to find out if this is a good way of doing it.

So far, the advantages seem to be:

Its free

No size or bandwidth restrictions I can see

Its reliable

Uploading is easy and convenient

I can add text comments to the pix or not, as I please

Does auto thumbnails for me

background etc customisable

I've never used an online photo album, so if anyone has, do let me know what advantages they might have. Some I can think of would be:

Mass upload. yes but I don't need that, at least yet

Printing from online. Ditto.

Maybe there is more. The pics here are intended to be beautiful, or of general public interest, or something I might want to refer to elsewhere, or maybe just family ones.

A note: I plan to edit the blog timestamps to reflect the dates of the pictures. So things will get wildly out of order of posting. You can cope.

August 2005

One of the machines at the end of the gravel conveyor over the River Great Ouse at sunset.

On the Old West River, at the GOBA mooring just beyond the high bridge. Zinfandel in some lesser company. Having a digital camera encourages this and may even be sensible, but it makes wading through the collection a long task.
